VB Energy takes your privacy seriously. Below you can read what data we collect when you contact us or request a quote, why we do so, and what rights you have.

Who processes your data?

What data do we collect?

• Your name, address, phone number and e-mail address
• Details about the work requested: type of service, rooms, surface areas, distances, type of vehicle or installation
• Photos you send us yourself with your request
• Any remarks you choose to add

We only collect what you fill in or send us yourself. For visitor statistics we use Google Analytics, but it only loads after you consent through the banner — more about that in our cookie policy. Besides that, three purely technical things are kept:

• A marker so the opening animation does not replay on every page. It stays in your browser and disappears the moment you close the tab.
• A marker that you have already seen the notice about cookies, so it does not keep coming back. It stays in your browser.
• Your choice of Dutch, English or French, and only when you press the language button yourself. This one is a cookie: it travels to our server with every page, because otherwise we cannot show you the right language. It contains nothing but “nl”, “en” or “fr”. If you never press the button, nothing is stored.

None of the three says anything about who you are or what you look at. The only cookie that records anything about your visit is the Google Analytics one — and we only place it once you have pressed «Accept». If you decline, nothing happens.

What do we use it for?

• To answer your request and prepare a quote
• To make appointments with you and carry out the work
• To meet our invoicing and accounting obligations

The legal basis is the preparation of an agreement at your request when you submit the form, the performance of that agreement once you become a customer, and our legal obligations regarding accounting.

Who sees your data?

Your data stays with us. We do not sell it and do not use it for advertising. Only when it is necessary for the job do we share the strictly necessary information with, for example, a supplier, an inspection body or our accountant.

Beyond that, two parties can technically come into contact with your data, simply because a website and e-mail have to be hosted somewhere:

• Our hosting provider, which manages the server this website runs on and through which your form arrives.
• Our e-mail provider, which sends and delivers the message containing your request.

Both may only process your data on our instructions and not for their own purposes. If you would like to know who they are specifically, we will tell you on request.

How long do we keep it?

Quote requests that do not lead to a job are kept for a maximum of one year. Data on completed work is kept for as long as the legal retention period for invoicing requires, and so we can assist you later with maintenance or repairs.

Your rights

You have the following rights regarding the data we hold about you:

• Access — you may ask which data we hold about you.
• Rectification — if something is wrong, we will correct it.
• Erasure — you may ask us to delete your data, unless we are legally required to keep it for our accounts.
• Restriction of processing — you may ask us to freeze your data temporarily, for instance while we check whether something is correct. We then keep it but do nothing with it.
• Portability — you may ask for the data you gave us yourself in a common file format, so you can pass it on to someone else.
• Objection — you may object to a particular processing.

An e-mail to info@vbenergy.be is enough, and we reply within one month. If you are not satisfied with how we handle this, you can file a complaint with the Belgian Data Protection Authority, Drukpersstraat 35, 1000 Brussels — gegevensbeschermingsautoriteit.be.

External services

With one exception, this website serves everything from our own server: fonts, scripts and images. That exception is Google Analytics, which we use to count visitors and which only loads once you give your consent. If you do not consent, no data of yours goes to Google. If you click through to our pages on Facebook, Instagram, Trustlocal or Google, the privacy rules of those parties apply from that moment on.
